International Men's Day

Why Adam James, Lettings Manager is our inspirational man this International Men's Day.
How do you try to be a role model for those in your team?
I try to lead by example, be supportive and treat everyone with respect. I want my team to know that I’m in it with them, not above them, if they can see that I care, stay accountable and keep learning, then hopefully that encourages them to do the same. It’s about showing up with honesty and consistency.
What inspired you to start a career in property?
It was from mum taking us on day trips around new developments as a child to look around show homes. A fascination of how property was showcased, designed and how you could put your own stamp on it which sparked my interest. Every time I went into one, I wanted to live there, but mum had no intentions in buying, I think it was more of a way to keep me occupied.
How has your journey with your brand evolved so far?
My journey with Chase Evans has been one of Growth, leaning and commitment. I started as a junior negotiator with no experience and now manage the lettings department at our flagship branch. Over that time, I’ve seen us grow from two branches with a small team, to 6 in London and the opening of our international offices and now being part of the bigger Lomond family tree. Its amazing to be part of that evolution and to work with people that have the same success in mind.
What do you love about your job?
Hands down the people I work with is by far the most important attribute to loving my job. I spend more time with my colleagues than I do with my family, they are family, so supporting each other and sharing each other’s success and achievements along with harder times plays a big factor in loving my job.
What advice would you give to younger people entering the property industry?
Live by the phrase, early bird catches the worm. In an industry that is sales driven, timing and effort make all the difference.
How do you take care of your physical and mental well-being?
Sleeping well are the foundations, if I achieve this then I know I’ll wake up early enough to gym before work, eat healthy and have the mental clarity needed for the day.
Do you have a particular moment or accomplishment you are proud of?
In my personal life, definitely becoming a father and in my professional life it would be the teams hard work and collaboration which allowed us to achieve top office status.
What's a fun fact about you?
I’m fluent speaking in a form of English back slang, most people have no idea what I am saying.
